Riverside Fire Station

The $4.4 million Riverside Fire Station project was a surety takeover job that Soltek completed for a non-performing contractor. Soltek delivered the project with a Guaranteed Maximum Price plus a fixed fee. The existing structure was less than half complete at the time Soltek commenced its operations, and along with the General Contractor, the original plumber as well as the framing/drywall contractor had left the job prior to completion. Soltek was chosen by, and worked with, the sureties of Liberty Mutual Insurance and Safeco Insurance Company to provide the City of Riverside with a state of the art station even with the previous setback of a defaulting contractor. Soltek hit the ground running by obtaining bids from new subcontractors for abandoned trades, coordinated the work with all the new and existing subcontractors, and incorporated value engineering and design coordination to maximize the value of the project.

The 30,400 sq. ft. fire station is comprised of a fire house (administration building, living accommodations including dorms, kitchens and day areas as well exercise and training rooms); and a fire truck Apparatus Bay with ancillary spaces including a workshop and storage areas. An emergency generator and Convault storage tank were located on site as well as all necessary communications equipment including antenna.
